Ígor Fjodorovítsj Stravinskíj var eitt mikilvægasta tónskáld tuttugustu aldar. Hann fæddist í bænum Oranienbaum í Rússlandi, en flutti síðar til Parísar í Frakklandi og seinna til New York í Bandaríkjunum. Hann er þekktastur fyrir þrjá balletta sem hann samdi snemma á ferli sínum; L'Oiseau de feu (Eldfuglinn), Pétrouchka og Le sacre du printemps (Vorblótið).
